calculators provided by

Encraft

How much could you save by installing microgeneration on your property?

These calculators help you choose the best renewables for your home. They provide provisional specifications and resource estimates for your property, as well as indicative carbon and cost savings.

The performance of renewables varies substantially with location, so this kind of personalised information is important.

Use these tools to calculate your carbon footprint; explore solar hot water (solar thermal) and electricity (solar photovoltaic); experiment with wind power; and see if you can extract solar heat from the ground or air with a heat pump.

The council is offering these calculators free to use in partnership with Encraft, who have been working with us on projects to promote understanding of microgeneration. If you would like more detailed support many independent technical organisations should be able to help you, including Encraft and other organisations offering similar services such as Act on CO2 or local engineering design practices.
