solid wall insulation

Most houses built before 1930 have solid walls. You can also tell if your walls are solid if you have a characteristic brick pattern where every other brick is laid sideways.
You can insulate solid walls internally or externally using a variety of proprietary systems. Internal insulation results in a slight reduction in room size; external insulation provides an opportunity to change the appearance of the house, and works well if your walls are already rendered.
In either case you need to think about relining door and window openings, and for internal insulation you will also need to relocate sockets and fitted furniture on external walls.
You can use a variety of materials, including natural ones. Our tailored estimate and specification service will provide cost and carbon payback comparisons for your property between materials, and for insulating to building regulations or to a higher eco-specification in conjunction with other energy efficiency technologies.
