AECB environmental standards

Encraft is a member of the Association for Environmentally Conscious Building (AECB) and a supporter of their independent rating system for designing and constructing low carbon buildings.

We are qualified to evaluate and design buildings to AECB Silver and Gold standards, which are based on the long-established German Passivhaus design standards.

The AECB Programme is designed to be clear, informative and impartial, and outlines the reasons behind the need for more sustainable building practices, as well as providing wide-ranging yet detailed guidance on the ways in which this change is best achieved. Innovative large domestic property

We applied AECB standards as a way of challenging architects and designers of a large new house, being constructed under the constraints of PPS7 in the green belt. To secure planning permission required the customer to demonstrate significant innovation, and the toughest AECB standards are sufficiently difficult to achieve that they force the design team to be genuinely innovative.
