Encraft works with estate managers and owners of multiple properties to identify optimal energy efficiency
and renewables opportunities across the portfolio.
We use computer modelling tools and databases to carry out this work efficiently.
Our impartiality and independence enables us to look at the widest range of options objectively.
As well as normal standalone renewable technologies such as wind, solar and biomass heating, we are
also able to consider multi-faceted solutions such as district heating, combined heat and power,
anaerobic digestion, and energy services models.
Bromford, Jephson and Orbit Housing Associations, Midlands
We reviewed low carbon technology options for a 294 unit residential development with five different
house and apartment types. The project demonstrated the business case for an optimal mix of renewables
and energy efficiency measures, including an on-site energy centre using biomass or traditional fuels.
Ministry of Defence, Devon
We analysed all the buildings on a former MOD estate in Plymouth to identify economic renewables and
energy efficiency measures that could be incorporated in the redevelopment of this large site.
This work included a theoretical assessment of using marine current turbines in the neighbouring estuary to
generate electricity for parts of the building complex.
