Grants for Community Buildings
Encraft is an accredited supplier of independent feasibility and design studies for the Community Sustainable Energy Programme (CSEP).
Eligible organisations can receive up to 75% funding for feasibility studies and 50% funding for capital projects under this scheme, which can also be combined with other funding streams to enable 100% grant funding for some community renewable projects. The CSEP is a Big Lottery Funding Scheme.
CSEP scheme details
The scheme offers grants to not-for-profit organisations in England to help them to reduce their energy bills and environmental impact. The CSEP scheme also seeks to raise public awareness of the social and environmental advantages in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions in order to combat climate change.
Grants are available towards feasibility studies as well as towards the actual purchase and installation of renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures. For a project development grant, organisations can apply for up to £5,000 or 75% of the study cost, whichever is lower. For a capital grant, the maximum grant available is £50,000 or 50% of the project cost, whichever is lower. For more information and details on how to apply, visit www.communitysustainable.org.uk.
Encraft services for CSEP
Encraft is one of the consultants registered on the CSEP to carry out studies funded by a project development grant, and we offer a national service from our base in the Midlands. As we do not promote any particular technology, third-party supplier or service, we are particularly well-placed to offer impartial, honest advice on the best options for an individual organisation. Encraft’s chartered engineers and low carbon consultants are familiar with all six microgeneration technologies covered by the CSEP scheme. Not only do we provide professional and comprehensible technical advice, we guide organisations through the application process and do our very best to help them secure funding.
Encraft offer low carbon feasibility studies, site assessments, preliminary designs and project management for both existing and proposed buildings under the scheme. We also seek to engage the community with each project, and at the same time increase visibility and understanding of the wider issues of climate change and sustainability.
