Encraft developed a range of energy system options from plans for an ecodesign by Greenerliving homes. This enabled the architect and developers to offer potential buyers choices between traditional and eco-energy system designs and a range of carbon emission ratings from building regulation compliance through to zero emissions using different technology mixes.

The most carbon efficient design included passive solar heating and ventilation, a wood-fired boiler and solar thermal systems, supported by onsite solar electricity generation.
